Well, well, well. Spring/Summer 2012 fashion week had finally rolled down its curtain. Time to choose which is IN or the other way round ?
I'm not a fashion critic nor a fashion writer. Just sharing opinions with people that live for fashion, that's it !
Well, there were a lot of movement of designers to different fashion houses. Accompanied by speculations.
From New York to London, Milan to Paris.
My top favorites.
Alexander McQueen
Well, her best collection so far for McQueen. Didn't get over-hyped by the fact she did Kate Middleton's wedding dress. Kept the McQueen legacy alive with a touch of woman. And not to forget, the amount of details and workmanship into each piece. Brilliant !
Valentino
Beautiful. After taking over just few seasons ago, there is a sense of fresh air in the house. The lace and fabrics are awesome. I bet they made Valentino Garavani proud and smile too.
Julien Macdonald
A better show this time around. Love those long dresses ! A little resembles of Fall 2010 Givenchy Haute Couture Collection, but nonetheless a great show/collection.
Celine
2 words. Phoebe Philo. Not to say her best. But she nailed it again. The easiness of clothes. Less is indeed, really more.
Lanvin
Who doesn't love Elber Albaz. He designed clothes as if he created woman. Those clothes are superb, they flow and move, they even speak for themselves. Who doesn't want to be a Lanvin woman.
Helmut lang
The consistency of the fashion house is incredible. Doing it season-in, season out.The jackets are awesome, the tops are awesome. This husband-wife team of designer is building the brand and business up along the way.
Givenchy
The right man at the right job doing the right thing. Perfect match. Seasons after seasons, womenswear, menswear, couture. This man is a genius. Sad to see if he leaves for the rumored Dior House.
Ann Demeulemeester
Am I in the Fall season ? Well, the Belgian designer does what she does best. It's her style anyways and that is why she has my attention.
Well,
Christian Dior might be facing a difficult time, but notably a better collection from Bill Gaytten this time around compared to his first collection for the Dior Haute Couture Fall 2011.
Miu Miu, kind of disappointed and sad to see the show after a promising Fall collection. Where are the colors?Isn't it spring? Looks like Miuccia Prada spend more effort on the Prada line perhaps ?
YSL, I had to say Stefano Pilati had a little bit of the mark this time around. Maybe the rumors are true ? He may be unsettled because of the fact that he might be imminent to be replaced.
Is it true that you can do whatever you want if you have the money ?
Kanye West debuted his womenswear line in Paris, but do we really need another singer-cum-designer? I think he should just stick to singing,or rapping should i say.
